Through the Eyes of the Piping Plovers: The Flora, Fauna and Communities of the Lake Plain

Presented by Lake County Audubon Society and the Sharing our Shore-Waukegan Initiative in partnership with College of Lake County, this special art and education exhibition celebrates the return of endangered Great Lakes Piping Plovers to nest in Waukegan and highlights the rich plant and wildlife communities that share this unique lakefront habitat. Opening February 27 at the Robert T. Wright Gallery of Art in Grayslake, the exhibition features more than 50 artists and over 140 works of art alongside interactive educational displays about migration, conservation, and the Lake Plain ecosystem. Through the Eyes of the Piping Plovers will be on display from February 27 through March 31 and is free and open to the public. The gala opening will take place February 27 from 5:00–7:30 pm.
