Restoration Workday at Waukegan Dunes

Deepen your connection to the environment at a Restoration Workday in Waukegan Dunes! Hosted by the Lake Plain Coalition. No experience necessary! We will guide you through the process. Children 10+ welcome with an adult.

Friday September 4, 2-4 pm

This workday’s activities to be announced, but could include pulling sweet clover and spotted knapweed, scouting for and treating crown vetch, and/or beach cleanup activities.

What to Bring: Friends and loved ones, work gloves, and water to stay hydrated. Sunscreen and bug spray also recommended.

What to Wear: Dress for the weather. Closed-toe shoes required. Long pants and sturdy hiking boots that can get sandy recommended. Note: Site has uneven terrain and ticks are present.

Where to Go: Please park in the Beach Parking off of East Sea Horse Drive. Let the gate staff know you are here as a Lake Plain volunteer. We will meet a few minutes before 9 AM - specific location TBD.
