Join us Saturday, August 22 for a Wildflower & Weeds ID Workshop Workday at Spring Bluff Forest Preserve. Here we will explore sandy ridges and high-quality swales, appreciating both the native and weedy species of the site, alongside the Lake Plain Coalition Coordinator, the Lake County Forest Preserves Stewardship Ecologist, and experienced stewards.
No experience in plant ID necessary to participate! We will teach you all the tips and tricks necessary to identify what we observe in bloom. Children 10+ welcome with an adult.
Please park in the North Point Marina parking lot. Participants will meet the workday leader off 7th Street at the southern trail entrance a few minutes before 9 am. Please bring water to stay hydrated. Sunscreen and bug spray recommended. We will be potentially going off-trail for this workshop, so dress for the weather, closed-toe shoes required, and long pants and muck boots or hiking boots that can get wet/muddy recommended. Note: Site has uneven terrain and ticks are present.
