Deepen your connection to the environment at a Restoration Workday in Waukegan Dunes! Hosted by the Lake Plain Coalition. No experience necessary! We will guide you through the process. Children 10+ welcome with an adult.
Friday, October 9, 9 am - 12 pm
Potential workday activities include planting native shrubs and wildflowers along the boardwalk near the Stiner Pavilion in collaboration with Lake County Audubon Sharing Our Shore - Waukegan to promote habitat for resident and migratory birds.
What to Bring: Friends and loved ones, work gloves, and water to stay hydrated. Sunscreen and bug spray also recommended.
What to Wear: Dress for the weather. Closed-toe shoes required. Long pants and sturdy, waterproof hiking boots that can get dirty and sandy recommended. Note: Site has uneven terrain and ticks are present.
Where to Go: Please park in the Municipal Beach Parking Lot off East Sea Horse Drive. We will meet there a few minutes before 9 AM.
